Ok, ok, I see you wanted to use a funny joke and that's ok. I just really can't see the fun in joking about disabled people. I like witty jokes and other funny pics, just not disabled people. I don't like that.

But sorry if I'm being a little... Gee what's the word... Overreactive?

Their "value" was set by powerfarmers and powersellers. Now it's easier for a casual player who might not have been able to obtain Gold before to get a suitable weapon without dropping 100K.

So, to anwser your question: They are less valuable because farmers are slowly becoming obsolete thanks to the game having better ways to distribute Gold items to players.

people! pls read this!!! because this is what im tryin to say!

ty for this! [/QUOTE]

sorry am I mis understanding you ... I am just catching up ... I had to work so I am just following up on the pages I missed ... but wasn't your original post stating that gold items are rare, they are for the top people who will spend nedless amounts of cash, they make you feel invincible, do NOT compare gold items with blue or green items?

Collector's items are available to us ... of course we will have to upgrade them add on our mods ... but in reality they are equal to and greater than most gold items ... the only gold items you will find that beat collector items are

staffs and wands with perfect 10% on all skills mods

swords, axes, and bows, with 15% always mods with side affect that doesnt hinder the profession's function

the off hand focus items with + health imo, are not nearly as useful as the 20% recharges, etc.

Everyone has there opinions but ... most gold items are not worth their money. Heres a question ... will you settle for a perfect, favourite beer, or and almost perfect beer? Steak? How about wife?

Perspective plays a huge role in the economy and unfortunately common sense is completely eluded.

'Yes I want that 'Hale Max Damage Fire Staff of Fortitude with plus 40 health, improves cast speed 5% for 100K, cause Im gonna really R0xx0r my enemies now.'

And I will pay 1000 for the items needed and run my azz to the collector, pick up that perfect wand/foci or staff and be more effective.

It isnt like they dropped prices that much, they didnt make a green crystalline sword or a green storm bow they just simple gave others a chance to get a few good items. The crystalline swords and all of those elite items are still going to give u a nice paycheck at the end of the day, they were just keeping out the 'lower' class

If you would prefer I use word to spellcheck my posts ... I think that is a little absurd. Another hate list added me ... my god ... I am sorry but I do type too fast and rarely read over my post. What I am saying while I am typing is going to come out. Frankly I don't care for your opinion but appreciate the useless post count from someone who has nothing better to do. Next time you decide to join any sort of discussion ... why not post anything related to it.

Sigh. The conspiracy theorists again. There is no 'union' for powersellers/farmers. They don't hoard gold items. And they NEVER set prices.

Prices are set the way they are in any economy: By the Buyers. Period.

If people weren't willing to pay those prices, then the prices would fall.

That said, the latest update does seem to be a better way to distribute gold items to the general population without completely trashing the economy. In effect, Anet 'harnessed' the farmers, rather than nerfing them. Well Done Anet.

Because while an average unidentified gold item had a resale value over 5k pre-patch, now players can farm as many max rares as they want for roughly 1k per item. Pricing dropping in response to that is only natural.

Peace,

WHY SHOULD (OTHER)GOLD ITEMS BE LESS VALUABLE NOW AFTER THE UPDATE?

Why? Is it because u can get a GREEN version of it? Or is it because you can now get one from a crafter? People, I personally think that ANET put 'em GREEN items and items u can get from a crafter for one sole purpose...to give people that doesn't have millions of plat a chance to hold a weapon with MAX DAM (LOW REQ) +15>50 SUNDERING/FURIOUS 10% +30HP!! Seriously, tell me how much is a Perfect sword pommel or a perfect sundering/furious upgrade cost??? A LOT!!! If you see some1 selling a gold item you cannot just go up to him and say "hey il buy ur perfect sword for 100k only, you know why? because u can get green items with the same stats!" OMFG!!! Then why don't you just FARM for a green sword that looks like mine in SF or GF??? Don't friggin insult my intelligence with that smart a@@ remark! Because for all I know, PERFECT GREEN ITEMS ARE EASILY FOUND! I found 2 perfect green items in 3 runs on SF (bows that looks like a halfmoon) and sold them for 23K each in Ascalon! WHY DID I DO THAT??? Simple, that's what its intended for! To be sold for some people who doesn't have enough money to buy a perfect weapon. Now do I care if they're going to re-sell that for more? No. Just the fact that I was spamming that under the Local/Trade channel so people will see how/what Greens should really worth is all Im after.

Now, for all of you GOLD lovers....do you feel good when ur wielding a green item in battle? how 'bout a blue item from a collector? I personally don't. Wielding a perfect gold weapon just makes me feel INVINCIBLE!! The looks....its color...ahhhh refreshing!! From my personal experience playing here in GW, My first character w/c is an Elementalist, wielded a collectors item with +26Hp. But after playing hours after hours....going to LA to buy and sell...haggling with some people...ripping off the noobs....farming back then in riverside...I got rich! Then I did what some of us would do...start a new game with another character! But this time, my character will be godlly!! (xcuse me for using that word!) he will have the best armor and the best gold weapon the game can offer! So I did exactly that!

Now going back to the topic! Perfect GOLD weapons are for rich people and people who can afford it. Perfect gold weapons should still be expensive because THEY ARE HARD to come by! Do not compare them with those Green Items that you can easily find in SF. Perfect gold items should still be expensive because THEY ARE RARE AND HARD TO COME BY!!! If Green items and blue items make u feel good when wielding them I respect that, BUT please Do Not compare them with GOLD items!

Now that I have said my piece, tell me yours! BRING IT ON!!!

Ok, where to start. With more P gold items on the market that means that they are worth less. Chests put more P gold items out there.

And dont say they are for rich people, I give items away that I dont need. You know why? beacause I dont need them. HAHA at they are hard to come by, they wherent hard before the update, and they are easyer to find now. Its a game I dont care if you have 500 trillion gp, you still are not "rich".

Just because I think that there are people who spend way too much time farming or way too much time screaming like idiots in Lion's Arch doesn't mean I think there's a conspiracy.

I don't think people getting away with selling items at absurd prices means the market is buyer driven. It was just a sign that money had little use to many players. Gold should eventually become worth a lot now as a result of Gold beings more likely to be destroyed rather than given to other players and remaining in circulation.

If Anet had intended items to be worth over 100 Plat, they probably would have made it so characters could hold 100 Plat without resorting to using ecto bargining chips.

The economy was trashed to begin with. Anet if harnessed anything, they harnessed self-sufficience for the player that doesn't have the time to play abnormally to achieve decent end game gear and PvP unlocks.

pls dont get urself confused. i am not talking about gold items that only has 13>50 +14 while enchanted/hexed blah blah blah. i am talking about longswords, fells, crystallines and those stuff. now tell me as honest as u can, in ur time playing this game, have u ever picked up a rare item with 15>50 max dam low req in ur entire life playing gw? if u did, did u just give it away?? those swords/bows are hard to find by just doing missions/quests. n u said they are easier to find now? why? did u find one? and a lot of people would say im rich IF I EVER HAD 500 TRILLION GP!!
